Announcing Base Camp 2020.
Last year, a group of families and coaches gathered in Dallas for a camp specifically designed to maximize performance at nationals. Following camp, the attendees went on to win eight championships between NITOC and NCFCA Nationals.
We’re ready to do that again.
Base Camp 2020 will be staffed by every coach on the Ace Peak Team. Coaches Joseph, Drew, Sam, and Leah are coming back to deliver a highly focused camp experience the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before Nationals. And of course, we’ve made some special adjustments to Base Camp for the 2020 season.
Here’s what you can expect.
Training Built for Nationals.
You’ll participate in brand new speaking drills designed to boost your prelim speaker points. You’ll have roundtable discussions about specific cases in the metagame. And you’ll learn advanced strategy and persuasion techniques that will give you the edge in outrounds.
Student-Centered Groups.
Registration is limited to create a 6:1 student-to-coach ratio throughout camp. You’ll get to work directly with the top competitors and coaches in the country, all while absorbed in a champion-level curriculum.
Support All Week.
In high-pressure rounds, the help of a professional coach makes a big difference. Base Campers will have easy access to Ace Peak coaches all the way to the finish line for last-minute prayer, arguments, and advice.
The first two days of camp are directed at Team Policy and Lincoln-Douglas debate, with a third day for Parliamentary. After registration closes, we will divide students into separate morning and afternoon tracks. This division will allow us to keep student-to-coach ratios even for both groups.
