National Mastery Camp Information

National Mastery camps are for advanced students. They go in-depth on a single topic. Mastery camps are designed to be very challenging; only attend if you’re ready to work hard and test your limits.

At physical camps, we have a limited amount of time to cover topics that will be useful to a wide range of experience levels in a specific geographic area. Physical mastery camps don’t make sense. Online, we can collect a handful of advanced students from all over the country for a topical deep dive. That means mastery camps are made possible by the online format.

Schedule and Platform

Camp runs online for a single day, from 10am-6pm CST.

Camp will run on video-conferencing application Zoom. Make sure that you download Zoom and sign up for a free account before registration.

Focus of Camp

  • A highly interactive camp centered on predicting, building, and countering the main case patterns of the 2020-2021 season.

    • LD Topic: “In democratic elections, the public’s right to know ought to be valued above a candidate’s right to privacy.”

    • TP Topic: “The European Union should substantially change its immigration policy.”

  • All attendees receive a free affirmative case and negative case/brief before the camp starts.

Bring a Judge

We may have practice rounds/drills towards the end of camp. Every team must register an adult who can judge at least one debate round/drill.

Cancellation/Refunds

We know that life isn’t always predictable. If something comes up and you can’t attend, we’ll fully refund your registration up to two weeks before camp. Just let us know!
